Project Manager Responsibilities

Augment your intervention strategy with a description of your role as project manager. The following management elements must be discussed from the perspective of the “Managing” chapter in your course text, Educational Technology: A Definition with Commentary.
  • Document project management techniques: Explain your role as project manager for this intervention strategy.
Project management of tasks can be part of a larger strategic plan. It can document resources, delivery, and information in addition to the performance of individuals (part of the resources)and monitor tasks and sub-tasks associated with the overall project. After needs analysis, it often begins with a conversation with the client to determine needs (Januszewski, Molenda, 2008). Working toward implementing a portfolio intake and review process will require discussing this option with the stakeholders involved, discussing needs, and determining critical dates.
  • Document resource management techniques: Describe the resources that will be used for this intervention and how they will be tracked.
A needs analysis will be developed and circulated to the stakeholders. A timeline will be developed for critical dates, and people will be assigned with specific implementation tasks. Once the third party module is installed
  • Document delivery system management techniques: Identify the medium for the delivery of the intervention strategy and how the technology will be implemented within the instructional context.
IT will be responsible for the install or the connection to the portfolio application. There will be people designated to monitor the intake of portfolios, but the program can be automated by IT to notify the responsible department and faculty of the portfolio materials arrival.
  • Document information management techniques: Describe how information related to this intervention strategy will be stored, accessed, and processed. This may include information that will be used for evaluation of the intervention.

Storage: Server space will be made available for the portfolios through the IT Department.

Access: Access will be given to those directly in charge and those responsible for critiquing the potential student's portfolio The server can be mapped via the network on the responsible party's computer, and they will be given username and password access. These will be READ ONLY, so as not to destroy the portfolios.

Processing: Upon notification, it will be agreed that processing will take place within a number of day. A person will be designated as the monitor. This would likely be the Department Secretary, or the Program Director who is in charge of the department's assessment. If the ratinging/critique has not been recieved, this person will follow up. Students accepted or rejected will be notified via written document.
